WATTS WATER TECHNOLOGIES FV-4M1 1/4-INCH NPT, 150 PSI, 240-DEGREE F MAX, Vent Valve

The Watts FV-4M1 Automatic Vent Valve has garnered a mixed reception among customers, reflecting varied experiences with this plumbing product. Many users appreciate its cost-effectiveness and performance, noting that it functions well for its intended purpose. One customer highlighted the satisfactory cost savings on professional plumbing services, indicating that the valve effectively met their needs without incurring additional expenses. However, the product does have its downsides. A notable concern is its durability, with one reviewer mentioning that their previous vent lasted 35 years while this model only lasted a month. Furthermore, several users expressed frustration over product specifications, particularly regarding the threading. Customers pointed out discrepancies between the advertised 1/2" fitting and the actual 3/4" NPT thread, leading to inconvenience and the necessity of additional trips to home improvement stores for necessary adapters. Some select users communicated a desire for greater serviceability, wishing the valve were designed to be opened for cleaning rather than being sealed. Despite these negatives, several reviewers did highlight good build quality and overall functionality. In summary, while the Watts FV-4M1 Automatic Vent Valve can be an economical choice that performs as expected for many customers, potential buyers should be aware of the concerns regarding durability, threading compatibility, and ease of maintenance. **
