The plastic handles appear fragile, and the grinding surface is inadequate for sharpening really dull or chipped knives. However, it works well for touch-ups. The product is ideal for a modestly skilled user who wants to bring a modestly dull edge to a hair-shaving sharpness. This sharpener needs no oil or water for sharpening. The only downside this product has is that it doesn't produce results like those from guided systems. Users love the diamond impregnated mesh that makes it cost-effective and the best dual-sided sharpener by far. They also request DMT to make this sharpener in a rust-proof version to make it close to perfect.
