Leviton Motion-Activated Switches Editorial Review
The Leviton IPS02-1LG Decora Motion Sensor in-Wall Switch is a versatile switch, however, it does have some drawbacks. Customers report that the switch is not designed to prevent manual switching off, but it can be modified. Additionally, the switch requires a ground connection to work with LED bulbs. Some users have experienced the switch being triggered by HVAC systems or pressure sensors causing it to turn on and off repeatedly, thereby negating any energy savings. However, the switch has an impressive range for motion detect, and it can be mounted relatively high. One customer reported that it worked at 40 inches off the floor and could even go higher. The switch stays on for a designated amount of time once motion is detected, and it cannot be configured to only stay on during motion.
