Answer: This one expands into chips just as shown on the picture/packaging illustration. If you are looking for a soil-like substrate go for Exo Terra Plantation Soil. -
Question:
Can this be used to repot a napenthes pitcher plant?
Answer: Not sure about napenthes pitcher plant, but I used it to repot my orchids (along with bark, and some other media). The coconut husk helps keep the moisture, but at the same time drains well. -
Question:
How much of this would I need for a 75 gal boa tank?
Answer: I have a 40 gallon tank and use 1 brick so I would suggest 2. -
Question:
I soaked the coco husk. Do I let it dry first? It seemed I had too much water, not sure how moist to leave it.
Answer: That depends on the humidity needs of your animal. In my climate, the child months are dry so I left it wet and mist it periodically. I also have arboreal animals that won't be sitting in wet substrate too. I'd squeeze it out in a towel (the color bleeds) or let it set out over night in a thin layer (cookie sheet?) It's easier to mist it wetter than dry it out once it's in the enclosure. -
Question:
Is this ground and smashed into a block or is it more chunked? Anyone with a picture of the product instead of the wrapper?
Answer: It is not really soil, it's more chunked/pieces. -

Would this work for Millipedes?
Answer: Iv seen it be used for them a friend of mine has her' s in a mix of coco fiber and coco husk -

Does it will work for a veiled chameleon terrarium?
Answer: We wouldn't recommend this as a substrate for your chameleon, as there is the risk of them ingesting it. -
Question:
How big is the size of the chunks? Does it contain lots of finer peat-like coirs?
Answer: They're fairly big. Kind of like mulch for a garden, if you put wood in a chipper. Some pieces are more like strings or redwood bark bits... I have it with whites tree frogs. They're able to get it out of their mouths easy if they get any in there.
