Sanpyl Shoe Mounts e755221c-3786-4d0c-ac3d-10f5e19a57a0 Editorial Review
The customer experience with this hot shoe adapter has been largely positive, particularly among photographers looking to use Nikon speedlights with Sony cameras that lack a built-in PC sync outlet. Users have emphasized how this adapter allows them to maintain the functionality of their beloved Nikon flashes while utilizing their new Sony A7 series or A6000 series cameras. One user noted the challenges faced with other brands, specifically the Velo hot shoe adapters, which failed to activate a PC sync properly. In contrast, the Pocket Wizard adapter proved to be a reliable solution that allowed for seamless off-camera flash triggering. However, it’s important to mention that, despite being positioned on the adapter, the Pocket Wizard will not initiate the trigger directly. Instead, it requires a PC sync cord to effectively connect, which may require additional adjustments such as mounting the device away from direct contact with the camera to protect against electrical surges. This can add a level of complexity that some photographers may find inconvenient. Overall, this product appears to satisfactorily serve its intended purpose of bridging the functionality gap for those transitioning to Sony’s camera systems while wanting to preserve their investment in Nikon lighting equipment. **
