Surco Cargo Racks 1112 Editorial Review
The Surco Floor Kit is a supplemental accessory designed to enhance the utility of the Surco Safari Roof Rack. Although many customers feel that the kit should be included with the initial rack purchase, they acknowledge the primary function of the rack — accommodating larger items like spare wheels or coolers. The addition of this floor kit indeed transforms the rack into a more versatile storage solution, allowing users to securely fasten a wider range of items thanks to its sturdy slats that create sufficient space for ratchet straps and bungee cords. While some reviewers Consider the floor kit overpriced at the list price of $260 to $370, they recommend waiting for promotions or discounts before purchasing. Users do find that the kit is easier to install alongside the rack installation, and retrofitting it is possible with careful planning to avoid unnecessary disassembly of the rack. Customers have employed various methods, such as using industrial rubber mats, to further enhance the kit's functionality and keep items from shifting during transit. Overall, while customers appreciate the improved rigidity and storage capabilities afforded by the Surco Floor Kit, many believe it should be an integral part of the original rack purchase due to the original rack's inadequate gap coverage. **
